Lauren has been in Trent's practice since 2014. She will provide education and support during your pregnancy and you will see her in clinic if you attend for your check ups on a Wednesday or Thursday.
Lauren also offers a home visit for first time mums in the first week or two after going home from the hospital, to provide advice and support for you and your baby in the important newborn period.
Lauren completed her Bachelor of Nursing at the University of Sydney before going on to complete her Graduate Diploma in Midwifery in 2001. She has practised in large teaching hospitals in both Sydney and London, favouring delivery suite and high risk care. Whilst in London she also completed an Advanced Diploma in Women’s Health and branched out into Family Planning - this lead on to research nurse positions for Cancer Research UK and Family Planning NSW.
On returning to Australia Lauren worked for IVFAustralia in a dual capacity: as a fertility nurse and a practice midwife. She provided care to women going through fertility treatments and those who achieved a pregnancy after IVF or recurrent miscarriage. She also managed her own business providing antenatal education and postnatal home visits to patients across Sydney.
Maria joined Trent's team in 2018 is in the clinic on Mondays to help provide education and support during your pregnancy.
Maria qualified as a Registered Nurse in 1988 at the Launceston General Hospital, Tasmania and following this she completed her Bachelor of Nursing at Deakin University, Victoria. Maria went on to study Midwifery in Launceston and became qualified as a Registered Midwife in 1992.
Maria has worked as a midwife overseas in Saudia Arabia and throughout Australia in Sydney, Launceston, Mt Isa and Alice Springs. Her midwifery experience is across antenatal, birthing care and postnatal, where she has been able to support women throughout pregnancy and birth.
Adding to her midwifery experience, Maria completed the Family Planning Certificate, NSW and a Diploma of Reflexology at Nature Care College, NSW.
Since 2005 Maria has worked as a fertility nurse providing support, knowledge and reassurance to women throughout their fertility treatment. She has also continued to work casually as a midwife at St George Hospital, Sydney.
