Lauren has been Trent's practice midwife since 2014. She will provide education and support during your pregnancy and you will see her in clinic if you attend for your check ups on a Wednesday or Thursday.
Lauren also offers a home visit for first time mums in the first week or two after going home from the hospital, to provide advice and support for you and your baby in the important newborn period.
Lauren completed her Bachelor of Nursing at the University of Sydney before going on to complete her Graduate Diploma in Midwifery in 2001. She has practised in large teaching hospitals in both Sydney and London, favouring delivery suite and high risk care. Whilst in London she also completed an Advanced Diploma in Women’s Health and branched out into Family Planning - this lead on to research nurse positions for Cancer Research UK and Family Planning NSW.
On returning to Australia Lauren worked for IVFAustralia in a dual capacity: as a fertility nurse and a practice midwife. She provided care to women going through fertility treatments and those who achieved a pregnancy after IVF or recurrent miscarriage. She also managed her own business providing antenatal education and postnatal home visits to patients across Sydney.
